Hey I am Cate! You can call me Cate or Catie, I go by both! I am originally from Central New York, born and raised in the beautiful Finger Lakes. I started out my college degree at Monroe Community College where I also was part of the Swim Team. Swimming is a passion and I became All-American in 6 categories. I graduated from SUNY Brockport with a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Recreation while I also swam. To graduate from Brockport, I needed to have two internships which I took full advantage of. My first internship was for a summer and I came to Key Largo, FL to work at Ocean Reef Club. My second internship was in North Florida, on the beautiful Amelia Island at the Plantation. After graduation, I moved back to Key Largo to work at Ocean Reef again as a Recreation Coordinator. I learned so much from Ocean Reef and it will always have a huge place in my heart. I worked my way up from being a Recreation Intern to Recreation Coordinator…to Recreation Supervisor. My eye was on the Member Events Department and I didn’t stop until I succeeded. I wanted to plan events and the major events at the Club. I later transferred to that department as the Member Events Coordinator. I wanted more in my professional career and finally was promoted to Member Events Manager. I loved it!
Soon after, my boyfriend of two and a half years proposed and we planned our wedding for June 2016. I always wondered how it would be to plan a wedding and was curious to see if I would love that side of event planning. With a busy career I knew I needed help with my planning, so I hired a “day of coordinator” to help me on my big day. Every phone call, every email, every detail of planning I loved. I knew where my career was headed.
After 7 years at Ocean Reef Club, I made the decision to leave with a 3 month notice and left at the end of 2015. I started my business in March of 2016 and haven’t been happier. I truly love what I do and am so excited for my growing business and team!
Hey, my name is Baye and I am born and raised in Key Largo, Florida. From diving to fishing and boating, you can always find me on the water! Growing up on the island has always made me happy, but gave me the urge to get out and go somewhere new.
After high school, I decided to take a flying leap out of my comfort zone. I attended college at Louisiana State University, where I was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. During my time there, I was given the opportunity to travel and experience many different cultures and walks of life. I have traveled all around Europe with my friends, each time bringing home with me new experiences and passions. In 2016 (after eating way too much cajun soul food), I earned a Bachelors Degree in English with a concentration in Rhetoric and Culture.
Not knowing what I wanted to do with myself after college, I applied and was accepted to an internship program with the Orange Bowl Committee and football bowl game. Being an English major, I thought I was completely out of my league. Turns out, I was wrong. There, I worked with both the Florida State University team and Orange Bowl committee members to plan and host parties daily, coordinate with vendors, and make sure everyone in the room was happy. I fell in love with the job and everything that came with it. So much so, I went back for a second year to work with the University of Miami!
Once my college days and internship were over, I missed my beloved little island and decided to move back home. I was searching and hoping to find something close to my internship and I know I have succeeded. I am so happy to be working with the wonderful and amazing wedding planner that Cate is and I hope I can help you make you the happiest you can be on your special day!
Hi there! My name is Luisa, I was born in Venezuela and raised in Miami, Fl.
My passion for event planning started since I was very young. As soon as I graduated high school, I attended Miami Dade College, where I became a Certified Wedding and Event Planner.
After receiving my certification, I was offered an internship as an Assistant Coordinator with my professor’s event planning company. It only took me only a few weeks into my internship to realize how passionate I was about event planning and how much I enjoyed being a part of someone’s special day. After completing my internship, I decided to pursue this career path and continued to work for several event planning and production companies. During this time, I was fortunate enough to have been part of many extravagant and lavish events all across South Florida. In 2014, I ventured into corporate event planning. I also decided to return to school in order to expand my career and knowledge and I am currently working toward a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
After a few years of working in corporate event planning, I decided it was time for me to focus in my true passion, Wedding Planning. I made the decision to leave the corporate world and move to the beautiful Florida Keys.
I feel extremely blessed to have met Cate and to be part of our amazing team!
Hi there! My name is Heidi and I have grown up and spent almost my entire life in southwest Ohio surrounded by cornfields (literally). I grew up in a small town and fell in love with sports at a young age. During high school, I discovered my passion for planning events and learned how much I enjoyed weddings by helping out with my brother’s during my senior year.
After graduating high school, I enrolled into college at The Ohio State University where I am currently studying Hospitality Management with a minor in business. Ohio State has been an incredible experience for me so far and I love everything about this school, especially football season. There is no feeling like waking up on game day in Columbus, Ohio. During my second year, I had the opportunity to branch out and try to gain some experience with a wedding planning company out of state. I stumbled across Cate and her team and was instantly interested in working for her company. After talking with Cate, I accepted an internship position and moved south for the summer to join the team. To say I had an exciting summer is an understatement! I was able to experience the Keys life for three months which included a lot of boating, good food, and sunburns (We don’t have to worry about sunscreen too much back in Ohio).
When I returned to school in the fall I couldn’t help but miss the work I was doing as well as the girls I was working with. Therefore, I decided to help out and continue working for Cate remotely while I am back at school. It has been such a great opportunity to work with this team and I truly enjoy making sure that your special day is everything you’ve dreamed about and more!
